The DRIFT Study

Taking Part

This page explains the DRIFT Study for people who might be interested in joining

Overview

This study will compare treating a broken wrist by:

  • Putting the arm in a cast for four to six weeks and letting it heal.
  • Having a procedure to put the bones back into position when sedated or asleep.

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups (like the flip of a coin), this will make sure that the groups are similar and the comparison is fair. If you join the DRIFT study, we will ask you questions about how your child uses the arm, any pain they feel, and if they’ve missed any school.
